Radon Testing in Your Home

Federal agencies like the U.S. Surgeon General and the EPA suggest that all homes be regularly tested for Radon Gas. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in nonsmokers. Testing is easy and can be performed in conjunction with your inspection or anytime.

The test is performed by setting the equipment, an electronic, Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM), in the lowest liveable area of the home for a minimum of 48-hours.

Radon

What is an acceptable level?

Our electronic monitor takes samples of the air at preset intervals and graphs each reading. After 48 hours, our inspector will read the test equipment to determine the average level. A separate report will be provided.

If the average radon level is at or above the EPA-recommended action level of 4.0 pCi/L, you should consider a mitigation system to lower the levels. Our inspector is happy to assist you with any questions regarding the results.
